How to get a sales job in Lebanon

Retail, field, and B2B sales hire for different things. Here is how to pick the right one and prove you can sell.

Sales is several jobs

The word “sales” in a posting can mean a store floor, a car full of samples, or a laptop full of proposals. Each one hires for a different kind of proof. Pick the one that matches what you have done, then write your CV for it.

  • Retail sales associate: store targets, upselling, customer service, and shift work.
  • Field sales or medical representative: visiting shops, pharmacies, or doctors on a route, often with a car.
  • B2B sales or account manager: selling to companies, longer deals, proposals, and renewals.
  • Business development: finding new clients and markets, often with a regional scope.

Numbers are the whole CV

A sales manager reads your CV looking for one thing: did you hit targets. Put a number in every line you can.

  • “Reached 118% of monthly target for 9 of 12 months.”
  • “Covered 140 pharmacies in Mount Lebanon and grew the account list by 25.”
  • “Closed $220,000 in new annual contracts with 11 corporate clients.”

Retail and FMCG

For retail roles, list the brand, the store size, and your sales against target. Mention languages, since many stores serve tourists and expats. Say if you can work weekends and holidays; many postings require it.

For FMCG and distribution, name the channels (supermarkets, groceries, HoReCa) and the region you covered. A driving license and your own car often decide the shortlist.

B2B and account management

Show the deal size, the sales cycle, and the kind of client. “Sold software subscriptions to banks and insurers, average deal $15,000, three-month cycle” tells a manager exactly where you fit.

Name the CRM you used, such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or Zoho, and how you ran your pipeline. Regional B2B roles often want Gulf client experience, so list any markets outside Lebanon.

Ask about commission before you accept

Many sales offers in Lebanon combine a fixed salary with commission. Ask how the target is set, what share of people hit it last year, and when commission is paid. A high commission on an unreachable target is a low salary.

The interview is a sales test

Expect them to ask you to sell something or to handle an objection. Ask one question about the customer before you pitch. It shows you sell by listening, not by reciting features.

Close the interview the way you would close a deal: ask what the next step is and when you will hear back.
